Weapon of Choice Review

“If you got my fifteen-year-old self to design a game, and assuming you hadn’t got me in one of my 20-sided-dice-with-everything moods, you’d end up with something which - at first glance - would look a lot like this all-action Xbox 360 Community Game.”

I haven’t linked to a games review here for a while? I suspect it’s because the PC stuff gets linked on RPS. Still - it looks as if I’m going to be doing quite a bit of 360 writing in the nearish future, so I better start again. I take on Weapon of Choice for Eurogamer. Hurrah for videogames!

I actually found this game ridiculously hard - it took me a dozen attempts just to get past the first level ~ although, this is the first side-scroller I’ve played since I had an Amiga, which is maybe why I love it so hard… moment of greatest joy so far - finding out that the flamethrowers’ alt attack lets you fly around the screen.

Also, have you gotten around to watching the end of The Shield yet?

Totally don’t play any of the run-and-gun stuff which forums go crazy over if you’re finding this tricky.

It was a bit hard to begin with, but does tail off. The biggest problem is working out what weapons are for. Get that and the death-brushing sorted, and you’ll be away.
