Iron Man 6 Out

IronMan6

And now we’ve completed our thematic prologue, we head off into something of an epic. It’s a modular epic, but this is the start of a story I suspect will go to places no-one will be expecting. As such, I don’t really want to say too much – the easy hook for the start is “Tony Stark in Space, living out his James T Kirk Fantasies” but life has a tendency to get in the way of anything that simple. This is an enormous, if modular epic.

Basically, a good place to jump on if you fancy the cut of its jib (SWORD fans will find much to like, I suspect).

I liked #6, I really did. I’m still not into Land drawing Tony (especially since every time Tony grind he looks a bit like an idiot) but that’s okay. The new armor looks great and the backgrounds worked very well for me.
What I found a bit odd was the pacing that was not working for me in this issue.
3 pages of battle
10 pages flirtation
1 page joke
6 pages “real story”
Don’t get me wrong, the 10 pages flirtion did contain more then just pretty faces and quips but I somehow was expecting a little bit more.
I know this is criticism on a very high level. The book was really an enjoyable read otherwise and I can’t wait to download the next one via ComiXology.
